Bring Back The Cock!

NBC’s merger with Comcast is complete. The ink hasn’t even dried on the contracts yet, and incoming media chief Steve Burke has done away with the television network’s iconic peacock, saying it “seemed kinda busy”.

If Burke continues to make decisions like this one, we imagine he won’t be all that busy himself for very long at NBC.

It’s been replaced with the purple travesty below.

Wow, so many things wrong with the article you are basing your post on. It’s not NBC’s logo, it’s NBCUniversal’s. NBC, the channel – which is what we all associate the peacock with – is keeping the peacock. The average consumer will never see this logo – it’s for the larger company that owns dozens of channels, movie studios, etc. And the article doesn’t even get the typeface identification right.

Which is not to say it’s a great logo – definitely boring. But that befits a boring company, no?

The cock will remain, I can’t even look at it without hearing the three chimes in my head. That’s too much power to relinquish.

The only problem I have with this is that Comcast is EVIL.
