Perez Hilton Writing Children’s Book

He’s certainly come a long way from drawing semen dripping down the chins of celebrities each day, hasn’t he? Friend of Unicorn Booty, Perez Hilton announced today that he is publishing his first children’s book, “The Boy With Pink Hair.” Color us intrigued.

The book, published by Penguin, marks his return to print media following 2009′s “Red Carpet Suicide,” but is hardly a sequel.

“The Boy With Pink Hair” is the story of a child born with a shock of fabulous hair that sets him apart from his peers. While some find this difference hard to accept or understand, “The Boy With Pink Hair” uses the opportunity to find what makes him special and share it with the world. The children’s book is illustrated with vibrant retro-feeling art by first-time illustrator Jen Hill, putting into pictures the fun that comes with embracing individuality.

Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, has become quite the mogul in recent years. In addition to being a published author, Hilton runs a music label imprint; Perezcious Music, a popular online music station,; Radio Perez, and a clothing line previously available at Hot Topic stores. Plus, there’s his constellation of uber-successful blogs – Fit Perez, Teddy Hilton, Coco Perez, and of course PerezHilton.com. But hey, you already knew that.

Some may question the appropriateness of a professional online bully writing a children’s book, but to be fair, he has toned down the snark quite a bit since the 2010 bullying epidemic hit close to home. Surely getting punched in the face by the Black Eyed Peas’ entourage and a chastising from Jennifer Aniston didn’t hurt either. Hilton does more promoting and sharing these days than attacking and critiquing.

We wish the Pink One the best in his latest endeavor. But one request, P: Puh-leeze stop trying to make Kat Graham happen.
