Journalist Lara Logan Speaks Out About Her Violent Assault in Egypt’s Tahir Square

At the peak of the revolution in Egypt’s Tahir Square, journalists swept in to cover the historic moment. Lara Logan, a blonde South African reporter, was one of those on the scene of the jubilation, saying, “This was one of the moment’s in history that you don’t want to miss.”

During the fervor of celebration, Logan was somehow separated from her security and her cameraman. She ended up surrounded by a murderous band of Egyptians, taking pictures with cellphones, ripping off her clothes, beating her with flagpoles, and chanting that she was an Israeli. The mob then began to repeatedly rape her for what turned into a savage 25 minutes assault.

Logan speaks out, breaking the silence surrounding sexual assault, and delivers an incredible interview that is simply heart-breaking. Hopefully this helps her heal from her harrowing ordeal, and brings more light to the issue of rampant sexual assault in Egypt. The strength and fortitude that this woman has is incredible.
