Rick Santorum Calls SNL Cast Bullies for Acknowledging He Can’t Win Presidency
Somewhere at the crossroads of bad timing and sensationalism Rick Santorum is out there waving a flag accusing the cast of Saturday Night Live of being bullies for a skit that placed the homophobic Republican presidential can’t-didate (and dirty, dirty sex term) in a Castro gay bar.
That’s right, on the very same day that we learned that yet another gay teen took his own life after merciless bullying, Rick Santorum has the audacity to throw the word around and try to claim it for his own.
“We’ve been hammered by the left for my standing up for the traditional family and I will continue to do so,” Santorum said. “The left, unfortunately, participates in bullying more than the right does. They say that they’re tolerant, and they’re anything but tolerant of people who disagree with them and support traditional values.”
Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. The writers and comedians at SNL aren’t bullies for pointing out that you’re a homophobe with no political credibility. They’re humans. With eyes. They’re people who have payed even a tiny bit of attention to you and your hateful, nonsensical campaign.
Santorum is the one vowing to reinstate DADT. Santorum is the one that wishes to strip LGBT American citizens of their rights. Santorum isn’t the victim. He is the bully.
