Ellen Degeneres really is the queen of talk these days. How else do you explain her ability to not only get Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to open up about his notoriously private personal life, but to admit that he’s in a sham marriage with Gwyneth Paltrow meant to cover up his homosexuality?
“You have a great relationship and two precious kids. And we love Gwyneth,” Ellen said, trying to coax something out of the British rocker. “She’s been here many times.”
“She’s been a great beard for me now, for 10 years,” Chris said.
“She just pretends that she’s your wife?” Ellen probed.
“Yeah, it’s hard to believe,” Chris laughed.
Chris is clearly kidding. (Wait, he’s clearly kidding, right?)
