The Girl Scouts are wonderful – they teach all about tolerance, it’s a big deal in their organization. Boy Scouts on the other hand…they’ll catch up eventually.

I think it’s fabulous that Girl Scouts is all-inclusive! And I hope action will be taken against the Scout leader who refused to let Bobby join, if s/he doesn’t allow the inclusion once the rules have been brought to his/her attention.

Go, Bobby! Earn those merit badges!

As much as this sucks, this makes me super proud of the girl scouts (the inclusive ones, that is) and even more disappointed in the boy scouts.

That troop leader is a small minded idiot!!  You go, Bobby!!!!!

I just hate it so much when these news outlets (or anyone for that matter) get the gender pronouns wrong.  This child is a GIRL, not a boy.  And kudos to the girl scouts for being on the right side of this issue!  The troop leader in question needs to be relieved of her position so that someone more in line with the GSA’s values can be in charge.

One of my friends alerted me to this story, except she was on the opposite team’s side, calling transgendered people sick and twisted freaks. I was shocked and offended, though not shocked at her viewpoint. I was unsettled by her wish to slit the mother’s throat for calling her child transgendered.

For boys and identified boys, Camp Fire is a unisex organization with an anti-discrimination policy.

Hooray for Bobby, Bobby’s mom and the Girl Scouts of Colorado!  One point of order:  Merit Badges are for Boy Scouts.  As a Brownie Girl Scout, Bobby will be earning Skill Building Badges.

Gender (girl v. boy) is a purely social construct; only sex (female v. male) is biological. If they were called the “Female Scouts of America” maybe I could see excluding biologically male children, but they aren’t. As a former Girl Scout of ten years, I think the Girl Scout council is doing the right thing by including this child.

We need to just have “Scouts” how about that?  Why does it have to be sexually divided?  The problem is that people act like children are never gonna see what the other gender’s “extra parts” look like.  BIG DEAL!!!  People act like they have never seen a penis or a vagina.  Anyways, this isn’t even about that. We keep trying to break things apart as a society.  Things are Good or bad (which is relevant to the person)  Big or small (still relevant to the person) Slow or fast (relevant to person) as well all opposites.  You can’t have one thing without the other, so why separate them?  That’s why not a single person in the world can get along.  That’s why our world is divided.  Because of a word that should never exist… “better”. 

Yay for the Girl Scouts.  As for the leader having issues with the child having “boy parts,” when I was in Girl Scouts I don’t remember ever being exposed to any of my fellow scouts’ parts at all, so what would it matter?

I think I’d be looking for new friends

i know this isnt going to be popular, but what is wrong with guys or boys wanting a group of just their gender to socialize with and learn from from time to time, I mean nothing can be anti girl that has a boy in it but there are tons and tons of gyms clubs, groups that are female only and noone is bitching none of you are bitching about that, what about silly things like radio commercials where girls get in free, or free longnecks till 1am, where is the outrage or is it only in these really out there cases do we care, Im glad the boy who thinks he is a girl can be in girl scouts so that said why are the same people outraged over this not combating all the other forms where men cannot be included.  PS while we are at it can we finally have same punishment for female sex offenders as we do male 

oh and ps the girl scouts is a business period they make millions off of the cookie sales and those that produce it and manage it are very rich and using child labor but no bitching there as we dont care cause that is silly huh?
