I think you misconstrued the powerful message in this meme.  It is incomprehensible to say the bullying of LGBT youth is comparable to “…starving children in Africa…”  Unfortunately, the claws of Christianity are dug deeply into the fabric of our society.  Just a few examples from a historical standpoint in America alone.  150 years ago, slavery was abolished.  100 years ago, women were emancipated.  50 years ago, African-Americans were finally treated as human beings and inter-racial couples were allowed to marry. Fact - the largest antagonist to these groups not having their rights in the first place was the Bible. Fact – if it weren’t for outraged secular forces in the United States, these citizens would remain without their basic human rights to this day. The Bible is anti-gay.  Simply because a particular church or sect chooses to preach with indifference on the subject doesn’t make the Bible any more unclear on its view.  Do some historical research as to the persecution Christianity’s holy book has brought about on the world (like when the Bible was followed to the letter, it was a thousand-year period known as the Dark Ages, Hitler’s Christian platform, etc…) and some Biblical research as to the things it actually supports (such as slavery, rape, killing disobedient children, killing homosexuals, keeping women powerless, etc…) and you will see how this is very scary for the future of our country.  And this is in every respect, bullies, scientific progress, LGBT rights, women’s liberation – essentially every bit of progress we have made will cease and reverse if fundamentalists gain control.  I’m terrified and you should be, too.  This isn’t about grouping people in one category – this is about stating facts based from the book which Christianity stems out of.  A personal, private choice of religion is a right we’re entitled to – having those particular beliefs as government policy controlling our lives and stripping people of rights is not. The Bible’s availability to the public allows for open interpretation and justifies hatred of this magnitude towards minorities.  Just look at the Westboro Baptist Church – at least they stick to what the Bible actually says within the confines of modern law!  If slavery were legal, I bet they’d own quite a few!
