Friday Freakout: Gays on Fire — ENOUGH!

This week has been an especially gruesome news for the gay and lesbian community. For whatever reason, there has been this horrific trend of gay people being set on fire all over the world. We have no idea why this is happening, or what is going on, but ENOUGH!

The thought of being set on fire is terrifying, and equally terrifying is the thought that one person would actually want to do that to another. What kind of sick world do we live in?

But is it really that surprising that we live in a world where one person even thinks of setting another on fire because they are different? Teacher Jim Whitney (who was cleared of any wrongdoing, by the way!) took to Facebook to tell a former student “don’t be gay” and, when asked how many kids had to kill themselves for the issue of anti-gay bullying to be taken seriously, he said “11-18.” Disgusting!

When we have bigoted and hateful teachers like this educating our children – and constant images of politicians talking about making being gay illegal – is it any surprise that people think it’s okay to burn someone else alive?

ENOUGH!
