Stephen Colbert Eviscerates Michigan’s Anti-Bullying (Unless You’re Christian) Law
Stephen Colbert’s brutal smackdown of the Christian “all-knowing, all-loving creator who made all things and hates some of them” is required viewing.
Michigan has made national news this week for the passage of an anti-bullying law that includes a passage allowing Christian bullies to continue to raise hell for gay student, just so long as they really, really mean it (or have a permission slip from God).
The portion of the law that reads, “This section does not prohibit a statement of a sincerely held religious belief or moral conviction” effectively neuters the entire bill to the point of making zero enforcement possible. All in the name of God.
Stephen’s dissection of the anti-bullying-bullies law is must see TV, especially for Michigan lawmakers.
We’re with Colbert on this. Shame on the lawmakers who wrote this law!
