I’m feeling extremely stupid because I don’t see how monogamy is a risk factor… If I’ve been tested, he’s been tested, we’re both “clean” and sexing only each other…where is the harm in not using a condom? I believe they aren’t talking about the pregnancy risk (that would be an entirely different chart, I would assume) and I have an IUD anyway, so that isn’t a concern. Where is the unsafeness? Educate me, please.

Monogamy in general tends to lead to people not feeling they NEED to be tested to begin with, at least in my experience. I’m fairly certain that’s what they were saying.

I took a psych course on this and what can happen is the fact that one partner is actually not being monogamous so the problem is not with monogamy but with the way people think; they don’t get tested every 6 months like they should be and also the simple fact the humans are serial monogamous not monogamous
