When Rick Santorum isn’t busy fingerpainting with a frothy…let’s say mahogany substance across his own campaign sign, the GOP also-ran enjoys walking on the beach, kissing and cuddling miscarried fetuses, and tweeting semi-lucid “facts” based on a reality very different from the one we actually live in.
Like say, this little gem about the real reason for marriage rates declining in the United States. Can you guess who Rick thinks is to blame?
That’s right, the gays. How the decision of heterosexual couples in committed relationships to abstain from marriage has anything to do with LGBT couples fighting for their slice of American equality is beyond me. Rick Santorum, if you haven’t realized by now, is simply obsessed with gay sex.
One imagines that an episode of Jeopardy: Tournament of GOP Laughing-Stocks featuring the disgraced former Pennsylvania Congressman would be an easy win for his competition. Alex Trebec would undoubtedly have to turn off his buzzer after the dozenth question or so.
Not everything you see as problematic in the world is a result of gay sex. Take a deep breath. Jeez man, Freudian slip much?
You would think that a bunch of egomaniacs like the current GOP presidential candidates would see the writing on the wall. The real reason for marriage decline in America surely has a whole lot less to do with gays and lesbians than it does with politicians and celebrities who have gone through three marriages. Folks like Newt Gingrich, Kim Kardashian, and Jennifer Lopez have made marriage a joke.
