18-Year-Old Owen Middleton Documents His Trans Journey On YouTube

Owen Middleton is an 18-year-old transgender male who recently began his transition with the help of testosterone therapy. Owen decided to document his journey on YouTube as well as creating a forum where people can ask questions about gender identity, transition and various other subjects.

I thought the discover of this video channel was great timing. If you remember a few weeks back, two trans high school students from Colorado were punished for using the bathroom.

Owen’s videos left a very strong impression on me. I found coming out to be a very difficult thing in my life so I have a lot of respect and admiration for Owen and how well he seems to have come to grips with his gender identity. Owen’s first video is an introduction of sorts. Just today he put up his fifth video where he discusses his first two weeks on hormone therapy.

Trans issues have begun to gain greater attention nationally. A trans woman was arrested in Tennessee recently when she removed her shirt after being denied the right to change her gender on her drivers license at the DMV. Not all the news is bad from the trans community, the federal government recently ruled that sexual reassignment surgery is tax deductible. Cha-ching!
