Which Ban Offers the Best Defense of Marriage: Gays or Newt?

We’re totally feeling cartoonist John Cole’s illustrated takedown of the hollow argument that it is gays that are somehow bad for marriage, and not say, the current Republican presidential candidate frontrunner.

In case you need reminding, Newt Gingrich divorced his first wife while she was recovering from cancer to be with his mistress. A Gingrich employee defended the decision, ”She’s not young enough or pretty enough to be the wife of the President. And besides, she has cancer.” Gingrich would go on to marry his mistress, and then cheat on her as well with a woman 23 years his junior. Wife number two was then divorced in order to marry for a third time.

So by all means, please do explain how it’s LGBT Americans who are destroying the sanctity of marriage.
