Bryan Fischer’s Victim-Blaming Plan to Stop Sex Crimes: Kick Women Out of Military

Bryan Fischer has a plan (but not a clue).

The American Family Association’s homophobic ramblings are nothing new to us. The group is a Southern Poverty Law Center certified hate group, after all.

We’re used to head honcho Bryan Fischer’s incessant nonsensical (say that 10 times fast) attacks on the LGBT community, but his thoughts on ending sex crimes in the military have to be seen to be believed.

According to DOD, 96.6% of all sexual assaults in military are M on F or M on M. Remove women and gays, problem vanishes.

That’s right. Since the victims are the ones inviting all of that sexual violence, we could halt the problem dead in its tracks by simply removing all women and gay men from the military.

This feels like one of those moments in which someone has against all odds managed to crack the code on saying something that makes the world measurably stupider.

Seems to me the most logical step, given his “information,” is to remove all men from the military… But hey, I’m just an incredibly intelligent college student studying to be a math teacher who has such an affinity for math that he got a 100 in Calculus 1, 2, AND 3… What would I know about statistical probabilities?

Punishment for those who assault should be severe. The women and men serving their country should not have to fear their fellow soldiers will rape them. And when will these self righteous asses realize that rape is about power regardless of gender or sexual orientation? It’s not sex, it’s violence. No one asks to be assaulted. Just “because they are there” in whatever situation it happens to be, is not an invitation.

That might work if rape had anything to do with sexual preference. Rape is about power, not sex, and there have been numerous studies that show this. Most men that rape men in prison don’t associate as gay, nor do their victims, for example.
