Super Grace, Christian Cover of Nicki Minaj’s Super Bass
Christian covers of hip-hop classics are hot, hot, hot right now! Just when you finally got the “My Faith” cover of My Humps out of your head, we bring you some Hallelujah, Hallelujah graaaace.
Presenting for your listening pleasure/incessant mocking, Super Grace.
“Excuse me, you’re a heckuva guy. You know I really have a thing for Christ-centered guys. I mean, sigh, I’m gonna cry. I can tell that you have the holy spirit inside. Oh yes I did – yes I did! Don’t even worry about who I is. I’m like Prophets 31, in Christ I’m satisfied, but…Christian boy has got my heartbeat running away…”
From YouTube:
The song was originally written and performed for “Skit Night 2011,” a homecoming event for the Christian Greek organizations at the University of Florida. The song ended up winning first place, making it an award-winning parody. And of course the obvious reaction to the song’s success at Skit Night was to record it and make a music video. So that’s what you see here…
We get that this is at least partially satirical, but the line about the “true religion” still gives us the creeps. Eek.
Nevertheless, congrats on the win.
What do you think of Super Grace?
