Here comes the...?

Lies, lies, lies. European automobile manufacturer Renault isn’t really giving away free gay marriages with the purchase of their 2012 Twingo, but how else was I supposed to sell this stellar commercial from a company you’ve probably never heard of before?

I won’t spoil the twist any further than I already have, but something tells me you’ll be pleasantly surprised at what qualifies for auto marketing on the other side of the Atlantic these days.

Our European brothers and sisters get gay weddings in their car commercials while we suffer through stuntmen fishtailing in the barren desert over and over again? It hardly seems fair!

Haha nice ad from Renault but I have to say something, as I am french : LGBT people may come in commercial ads but France still don’t allow same sex couples to marry. Ads are nice, reality would be better !

Good for them! Whether it’s just a marketing ploy or not, just the fact that gay marriage is making a mainstream commercial like that is awesome. The more the straight world gets exposed to the idea, the less shocking it becomes for them. More power to Renault…and gay people too of course.

They did another one several months back with a young guy with his friends bump into his dad standing in line for a night club in drag. The boy acts stunned at first the smiles and says ‘can you get us in?’

I watched the ad and had a friend who knows French listen and give me the gist of the ad. They do not promise a gay marriage as Unicornbooty says they just portray gay marriage in a positive light. According to my friend they describe the marriage briefly and at the end say things change so has the Twingo. A far cry from promising a gay marriage if you buy the car.
