Shit Homophobic People Say (Brilliant Video)

I have visited this site for quite some time now, and only now do I fully realize how scary it is to be gay in America. For me it is kind of late, so it could also be sleep-deprivation, but it scares me to no end.

Over here, in the Netherlands, people would be in jail for even saying some of these things.

I can’t listen to this. I’m gagging.

I’ve actually never been more at peace with myself since I came out.  I’m much happier now than I was when I was hiding in the closet.  This just reaffirms all the hours I put into law school so I can fight for the rights of the disinfranchised. 

There always has been and always will be anti-gay sentiment in this world, particularly in regions where the laws were and are still centered around religious beliefs and values (eg: the United States).  There is also always going to be those who feel it is their place to speak up and denounce homosexuality as a deviant and morally corrupt lifestyle.  It would be nice to think that the world was a place free of bigotry and bias, but sadly it isn’t.      

Which part of my lifestyle is homosexual, my volintereing at a nursing home, or my working with the elderly.  It can’t be my sex life, I don’t have any. 

I concur, same here in South Africa.  Just last year someone in South Africa was fined R100k (15 000 $) for calling gay people dogs. Sometimes it seems as if some Americans just make up things to be hateful. They can’t really be that stupid and be such an advanced nation? It is scary to think about. I can just hope that Obama gets another term and that his human rights stance takes more wind for the sake of gays across the world.

Things like this are important for us to see and share. The next time your straight friends lament “oh, it’s not that bad for you”, play this for them and know that there are tons of empty headed people out there that listen to these jokers and BELIEVE them. I just really have to wonder what THEIR God would say about all the fear and hatred.

i think it’s hilarious that Marcus Bachmann says that we shouldn’t encourage our children in this behavior…..so what should we encourage? Hate, bigotry, homophobia, treating our neighbors as second class citizens? i don’t get it. 

Same here in Denmark. Being gay here has been a totally none-issue as long as I can remember. Or at least for the last 30 years. Nobody cares! Imagine what American society could accomplish, if it concentrated on real issues instead. Fighting something completely natural like homosexuality is beyond futile. These people are holding America hostage with their hate. And if they really get their evil ways with “the gays”, just imagine who’s next… Fighting these lowlife bigots is essential for America’s freedom in the future. I think more and more people realize this. I just hope it’s not too late.

we all have to stay strong when hateful ignorance like this is spit out into the media. I just don’t know how someone can say things like this and call themselves a good christian.

US law is NOT based on religion. That is one of the things the bigots keep lying about.

Wow, that video made me sick.  I’m not gay, so I don’t know if it’s biological or learned, and I have no right to make a judgement on that.  I just know that people like that need to get it out of their heads that you can make a homosexual, heterosexual.  Learned or not, it’s a firmly held part of a person’s identity so it cannot be changed and trying to do so just causes #$%&.  That’s why this should be a non-issue.  If it were, we could finally learn to talk to one another and understand *gasp* what it means to be gay.
