Santorum Staff Explains Why God Won’t Allow Women to be President
“The question then comes, ‘Is it God’s highest desire, that is, his biblically expressed will, … to have a woman rule the institutions of the family, the church, and the state?’ ” Johnson’s email said.
I’m reminded of Martin Niemöller’s famous passage about the Nazis rise to power:
First they came for the communists,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak out because I was Protestant.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.
The argument that Rick Santorum is only concerned with limiting the rights and freedoms of LGBT Americans is a fallacy. He also despises non-Christians, users of pornography, Middle Easterners, sexually active heterosexuals (and has made it a campaign promise to allow the ban all forms of birth control), and now women.
You know, women. As in 51% of our country.
That’s one hell of a slippery slope this guy hasn’t yet fallen down off of. Stay tuned.
