You’ve Got Me Feeling Emotions! Gay History Tear-Jerker (Video)

If you’re at the office or in a place where it’s not OK to weep and sob openly, you probably should wait to watch this video.

Filmmaker Ryan James Yezak’s teaser video “Gay Rights Movement” is probably the biggest tear-jerker since GetUp’s gay marriage video.

Although the video cleanly condenses the gay rights movement (as in the sociopolitical movement, not the name of the video) into six minutes and fifty-two seconds, we gotta give it up. This movie’s a winner.

That is, if it gets made. Yezak’s Kickstarter page sought to raise $50,000 to make the documentary “Second Class Citizens.” There were over $52,000 in donations in the first 24 hours of “Gay Rights Movement” being on Youtube, but that’s only a third of the budget he needs to make the video.

“I want to make a documentary that encompasses all areas in which we are discriminated against” says Yezak on his page. “The general population is not aware that discrimination against the gay community goes beyond marriage and bullying.”

Yezak is the directorial mind behind “California Gays” and other color-coordinated man dances to KP and Ke$ha; and although “Second Class Citizens” will be a deviation from speedos and six-packs (not that we’re complaining), we’re confident the documentary will be worth it.

What do you think? Will this be an Academy Award nominee next year? Or is YouTube as far as this movie will go?
