Indiana, South Carolina to Offer Equality License Plates
People living in Indiana and South Carolina will soon be able to show their support for equal rights by purchasing equality license plates. This is especially important because neither state offers domestic partnership or any sort of recognition of non-traditional unions. You can brush up on your state equality rights with this handy-dandy infographic.
This is a surprising move for South Carolina which will host it’s caucus election this Saturday. I doubt there will be many cars with these license plates in the parking lot of the local polling station.
Maryland was the first such state to offer equality license plates starting in 2008.
Proceed from the sales of these license plates go toward local LGBTQ equality groups.
