TN State Rep Threatens to Stomp a Mudhole into Trans Women in Public Restrooms

Tennessee State Representative Richard Floyd has threatened to “stomp a mudhole” into any transgender women who dare use public restrooms in his state, and I am not at all embarrassed to admit that I had Google the term to even see what it meant, though I deduced it wasn’t pretty.

From Urban Dictionary:

To tear someone a new ass, to beat them to near death or to otherwise hurt someone to the point that they can not fight back.

Oh snap!

Floyd said earlier Thursday he introduced the bill after reading a news story about a Texas woman who said she was fired from Macy’s after stopping a male teen dressed as a woman from using a dressing room.

“It could happen here,” Floyd said. “I believe if I was standing at a dressing room and my wife or one of my daughters was in the dressing room and a man tried to go in there — I don’t care if he thinks he’s a woman and tries on clothes with them in there — I’d just try to stomp a mudhole in him and then stomp him dry.

“Don’t ask me to adjust to their perverted way of thinking and put my family at risk,” he said. “We cannot continue to let these people dominate how society acts and reacts. Now if somebody thinks he’s a woman and he’s a man and wants to try on women’s clothes, let him take them into the men’s bathroom or dressing room.”

And then having been caught saying all of these horrific things, Rep. Floyd was forced to resign from his elected position in disgrace, right? Right? Please tell me I’m right…

So far, Rep. Floyd’s comments have been largely ignored and unchallenged by the mainstream media.

The problem is the ones who run it. If TN were to elect someone who supports the things above AND equality. We’d be in great shape.. The problem is on both sides though.. The people that run this site don’t like Trees, Forests, or Rural AreasThey only see evil in it. On the other side we have bigots who see only evil in LBGT Community.

One of my close friends is a transgender woman. We live in Tennessee. We have gone to the bathroom together many times and she did not try to crawl under my stall and molest me. Not even once. I fear for her safety here…

Here’s what I don’t get. How does this put his family at risk? Transgendered people don’t identify as their birth sex so a transgendered individual born as a man doesn’t identify as a man, she identifies as a woman so she’s not going to go raping your wives and daughters. They automatically assume this horrible kinds of scenarios that just flat out aren’t true.

Woah woah woah. I’m hoping that was just worded badly because it sounded like you just said people who identify as male have inherent urges to rape women. I’m going to assume you meant “why did they react this way when ‘this’ is the stereotype, and transgirls don’t fall under it?”

The bottom line is the chances of somebody raping you in a mall or any other crowded public place is probably very small. The whole idea that if someone in the bathroom or dressing room is of the opposite sex or gender – actually, let’s just cut the crap. If they’re MALE – they are automatically a bad person and must want to harm you, and for some reason, because you are in a bathroom/dressing room, you are more vulnerable and less likely to escape.

I mean seriously, how often to you hear of men raping men in mens’ bathrooms?

This is unsurprising. I grew up in the Bible Belt. Save 7 years in NY and CA, I’ve always lived here. This really is not news, considering the source. Outrageous, and alarming, due to the fact that this kind of violence against LGBT people, especially trans people, is extremely common here…
