Washington State’s own little local version of NOM, the Stand For Marriage Coalition announced earlier this week that Pastor Ken Hutcherson is now their official spokesperson. Hurrah! Confetti made of press releases! A trophy!

While Hutch is a familiar name (and bigoted pain in the ass) here in WA, those of you not from the Pacific Northwest may not know much about this man. So let’s visit his website and learn a bit about him, shall we?

How would you like to be a big black man who is conservative, friends with the likes of Dr. James Dobson and Rush Limbaugh, someone who believes that there are no mistakes in the Bible, doesn’t care what people think of him, thinks the only way to make your enemy a friend is to defeat them or kill them, thinks it is okay for prisoners to be executed, thinks that the human race is at the top of the food chain, thinks it is okay to drill for oil in our own country, to kick illegals out of that same country, and thinks it’s okay to enjoy life?

Yikes. One question though: When Pastor Hutcherson comes to my home to kill me for disagreeing with him, will BFF Rush Limbaugh also be participating in strangling me to death? Or will he just be driving the getaway car?

People take the most hateful/extreme verses in the Bible and decide to start a holy war/revolution…etc. It just blows my mind. Why wouldn´t you take the most loving verses and decide to start a new kind of love revolution. That would be really cool to see. Maybe I´m naive.

The Bi[b]le was written by hateful, closeminded, bigots. Is it really a surprise that hateful, close-minded, bigots still preach it’s hate against everyone/thing that isn’t ‘them’ – That such passages still exist in the damn thing? Ever since that thing was written, it’s caused nothing but trouble (and collaterial damage on epic scales). The Bi[b]le, encourages people not to think for themselves, to love only one set of existance and to hurt/destroy anything different - anything threatens to change their blissful ignorance and/or their sense of responsibility.

I know people don´t really get it most of the time, but there are people who do understand the message, and it really isn´t one of hate or discrimination. My God teaches me to love everyone. I try to be empathetic. I feel like I have a good heart, and I really do love people. It makes me sad that people misrepresent the God they claim to follow.

I think that what you´ve said is correct in that people have done all of those things. People do a lot of things in the name of what they believe to be right. But how things are and how things are interpreted are quite different.

The Bible is actually a conglomeration of dozens of books, some better than others. As a work of fiction, I’d say it could stand a major edit, and it has some glaring plot holes. Most of the Jesus stuff (the parts about respecting and loving all of your fellow humans equally, rather than the vampirism and torture porn sub-plots that early Catholic church retcon’d in after the franchise’s reboot) is actually pretty cool and can be the basis of many fine philosophies.

Well…. If Jesus is just the earthly embodiment of God (As explained by the Holy Trinity Father, Son, and Holy spirit), and we know God killed many people over the course of the Old Testament. I guess it is safe to say Jesus killed many enemies since they are one and the same.

But I draw the line at no “mistakes” in the bible. That book has been edited and reworded every year it has been reprinted. The bible is full of inaccuracies, contradictions, and extreme lack of moral thinking.

Any god who orders the killing of the following people is not a morally just god: people who don’t listen to priest, witches, homosexuals, fortunetellers, death for children who hit their fathers, death for children who curse their parents, adulterers, fortification, followers of other religions, non believers, false prophets, women who are not virgins on their wedding night, blasphemy, people who work on Sunday’s, brats, those who are curious, and the children of sinners. All this murdering in the name of an entity you can’t even prove exists. And christians have the nerve to say “it’s what god wants.”

Oh come on now!!! Why do people have to be like this?! Some claim to be Christian but use hate and fear to get their point across. I’m sorry but where in the New Testament did Jesus use hate to get something across. And I believe that we should capitalize on our oil, but not as much as we are, allowing oil companys to pretty much steal land from people. The Bible is probabaly the worst book ever written, if were talking facts, but if its, do this, don’t do that, then a few things are correct in it. But not much. And Jesus never killed anyone, but I’m pretty sure he would like to kill the likes of this man/it.

According to his facebook page he has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of West Alabama. But his website (linked in the article above) says “Dr. Ken Hutcherson”. Doctor of what? I can find no reference to him receiving any type of advanced degree. I smell a fraud! He should be investigated for fraudulent credentials.

If he thinks that there are NO mistakes in the Bible, then why does he wear clothes? I’m pretty sure that most of that fabric is some kind of blend, and Deuteronomy 22:11 clearly states that this is not allowed. *facepalm*
