Anti-Gay TN Senator Responds to Being Kicked Out of Restaurant (Video)
Stacey Campfield called in to the David Pakman show yesterday to discuss his recent high profile expulsion from a Knoxville, TN restaurant for his anti-gay stance.
Pakman spent a great deal of time asking Senator Campfield about his ‘obsession’ with anal sex and discredited a number of his statistics along the way. Campfield makes some pretty strong assumptions about gay people and the ‘gay lifestyle’ which he believes is a choice.
Other highlights from the interview include Campfield stating that homosexuality in the animal kingdom does not exist because he “has never seen it” and his suggestion that AIDS is a gay disease. Perhaps Senator Campfield should take a look at this handy-dandy homophobia infographic.
Campfield attempts to suggest that states which have legal gay marriage and anti-bullying laws protecting homosexuals negatively impact society in the form of poor quality of education which host David Pakman quickly squashes around the 8 minute mark by pointing out that his home state of Massachusetts, one of the most progressive states for LGBTQ rights, ranks among the highest in the country in education.
Overall I think that Senator Campfield comes off poorly in this interview. He is quick to point to statistics to support his homophobic ideas. Pakman did a great job in preparing for this interview and quickly dispels Campfield’s idiotic ideas. Sadly, I doubt Campfield will change his tune as long as Americans continue to elect these type of politicians.
