Nobody’s nipple shield accidentally slipped out during halftime, but in a sign of Janet Jackson’s continued influence on all things Super Bowl all the major press outlets are today talking about M.I.A. giving the middle finger for half a second instead of Madonna’s totally amazeballs performance.

Nicki Minaj! Like a Prayer! Open Your Heart! Cee Lo Green! LMFAO! Gladiators! A Cirque du Soleil guy giving his testicles rope burn! Madonna put her entire arsenal on display in the gayest halftime show ever.

I’m not a Madonna fan, but I loved it. The dancers were incredible, and “Like A Prayer” was gorgeous with CeeLo and the choir. Actually, Madonna was kind of irrelevant to me; that the show was amazing had little to do with her performance in it.

Those boots would be a lot more fierce if they weren’t platforms with the middles made from clear plastic. That’s the ONLY way she was staying up going down those “bleachers”.

Loved it! LOVE Madonna! Thought this was amazing. And worst halftime show ever? Whoever thinks that must be one of the 5 Springsteen fans in the world. I thought the whole show was done well, and it was definitely entertaining to watch. I did notice her getting a bit winded throughout the performance but more power to her for still doing what she does.

Loved the halftime show. Thought it was a fantastic medley of songs. However felt that as it drifted away from Madonna’s classics it became sloppy and unimpressive. Nicki Minaj continued to show that she puts the Ass in Class but Cee Lo brought it back. Not to mention that totally unnecessary tight rope walker was just fuckin awesome. I felt that Madonna’s dancer reminded me of the Martha Graham in her later years, where her body lacked the physical prowess necessary to execute the movements with the same passion and fire that it once could. Despite the fire and passion of the performer still glowing as hot and strong as ever.

Yeah, Madonna needed an assist for everything – it was like watching her with a walker. Kinda sad. And just WAY too much gladiator for too long. And the dude bouncing on the string was more of a “What? Why?” than anything else.

I did really like the stage (at least parts – like the ever-changing one during “Vogue”). I hate to admit I like Nicki Minaj, but I do. Did not watch until now, just heard “Like A Prayer” when my mother had it turned WAAAAY up.

I didn’t love it, I didn’t hate it. The one thing that really disappointed me was the lip syncing. I expect more from Madonna. And as for this whole flipping off the camera thing, I didn’t even see it, I didn’t find out about it until someone put it online…and who the hell is MIA anyway? It looks to be a pathetic cry for attention.

The theme really confused me… a lot. It seemed disjointed and random. Madonna is still incredibly beautiful, but the performance wasn’t that great. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t memorable in a good way. My favorite part was actually when LFMAO showed up…

Everything I liked about this performance had nothing to do with Madonna. Cee Lo was great, the dancers were great…but she was totally lackluster (and pretty obviously lip-synched the entire thing).

You can always tell the country music and rock fans. They are always the ones dissing about what a crappy show it was. Had Hank Williams, Jr. been up there singing about getting rowdy with his friends and wanting to put a boot up some other country’s butt, all would be well. I’m glad the half-time show show-cased other talent besides a bunch of country bumpkins with banjos and 10 gallon hats. MADONNA rocked it!

The funny thing about half these comments is they probably said the SAME EXACT thing last year. Some people are just SO negative. If you don’t like it turn off the sodding telly. I thought it was a better show than I’ve seen in a bit. As someone else pointed out, she was clearly in pain during certain dances, and the fact that she just dealt with it says a lot about her as a performer. Watching her do the shuffle was one of the funniest things I’ve seen in awhile. MIA’s little stunt was just low class. She clearly wasn’t enjoying herself..why’d she bother doing the song in the first place?

I enjoyed it very much. I like Madonna. She has talent, courage, and guts to stick her neck out. I liked this half time show far more than any other. Other than the little bobble she had at the top stair (which scared me for her) it was very well done. It had everything you would expect from a 2 hour concert. And yeah, as a fellow 53 year old, I defy any of you to attempt half of what she did. Well done Madonna!

Even though I didn’t watch the Super Bowl, I loved this half-time show. Obviously people are going to go either way with it, you either hated it or you loved it. In my opinion, this was so much better than the Black Eyed Peas performance (I can’t remember when they did it.. last year? The year before??)

I think the real problem is that she aimed her show at the wrong audience. It’s a football game, with mostly straight, red-blooded males.~ Her show was clearly aimed to a more gay oriented audience and this will garner negative feedback, like anything else when going after the wrong audience.

By itself, minus the lipsync, and the one guy during the break dancing part with his leg shaking around (hey it looked like he broke his leg and shook it around, creepy), it was a good show. I just think it would have gone over better in a place that is not a football game.~
