Hurrah! Updates as they come in.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco ruled Proposition 8, the 2008 ban on same-sex marriage in California, unconstitutional Tuesday.

The ruling will have far-reaching implications. The ruling will likely be appealed by supporters of Proposition 8 and next go to the U.S. Supreme Court, the Los Angeles Times reports. New weddings are unlikely to occur right away, the Times explains in a helpful Q&A.
