‘No Faggots in Jack City!’ Gang Brutally Assaults Gay Man, Uploads Video to YouTube
A man is jumped by an Atlanta street gang and brutally punched in the head, stomped and beaten with tire in the city’s Pittsburgh neighborhood, all while yelling that faggots had better stay off of their streets. A cameraman films the entire assault from the sidewalk.
But it’s what the the group, the Pittsburgh Jack City Gang, does after the vicious assault that really makes this story interesting. Someone from the gang, presumably the cameraman, uploads the video to YouTube. Horrified viewers then forward the video to the Atlanta Police Department’s Gang Division.
The video was quickly pulled from YouTube for violating the site’s “Don’t brag about your bloody, homophobic hate crimes online” rule (or a similar one, surely), but the Smoking Gun and World Star Hip Hop, the site that broke the footage of the African man being burned to death in the middle of a crowd, both uploaded copies for police to use in their investigation.
Police already knew that the business in the clip at 1029 McDaniel Street SW was a popular hangout for the gang, but this video has taken gang scrutiny to the next level. Viewers of the video searched and found photos on the gang’s official Myspace page (Pbthhhh!) of members with rifles and cash.
Surely this crowdsourced investigationg will give police all the evidence they need to find these violent homophobes and throw them in jail for a long, long time.
