The Situation’s Gay Denial Ironically Makes Headlines for Sounding Quite Gay

Snooki may have revealed that she is bisexual yesterday, but the thing everyone took away from the interview was that she and Jersey Shore co-star Jenni “JWoww” Farley believe that the Sitch might be gay.

Rumors about Mike Sorrentino’s sexuality are nothing new. We’ve gotten more than our fair share of reader tips that he’s been seen smooching other fellas, and the girls point out that the Shore‘s resident ladies man usually ends up in some sitcom-esque shenanigans that prevent him from going all the way with the girls he brings home to the house.

But it’s Sorrentino himself who has tongues wagging today because of his camp’s snicker-inducing denial.

“Mike really ripped both Snooki and JWoww a new one,” a show insider told me Wednesday.

“He’s extremely upset,” added the source, saying Sorrentino is concerned those comments could hurt his brand marketing efforts, which are very much focused on straight male customers.

Many have offered the unsolicited PR advice that when issuing a denial that you are gay, it’s probably best to leave all euphemisms relating to anal sex out of the statement.

Likewise, nothing says “on the DL” quite like your primary concern being one related to marketing your body and image to straight men.

Someone get this man a gay publicist who knows gay-spin, STAT. Every card-carrying ‘mo knows that gay rumors are to be met with bashful gratitude! The only place angry denial will get you is plastered all over tabloids.
