Rick Santorum smiled and laughed as police tased and arrested protesters interrupting the GOP presidential hopeful’s Washington rally held to protest the state’s new-found legal marriage rights for LGBT citizens.

I repeat, Santorum protesters were arrested for spoiling the atmosphere at a Santorum-led protest. While police made the call to arrest Santorum’s hecklers, the entirety of people we’ve spoken to about this agree that if you fly across the country to show up and make a big old Santorumy stink on a day full of pride and positivity in Washington State – well then you deserve to be heckled.

Because you’re an A-hole.

What do you think? Were police right to arrest the protesters? Was Santorum’s instate appearance in bad taste? Is Santorum by definition ever possibly tasteful?

This guy is not funny. A lonely nut whistling in the dark with such tunes as “rape babies are gift from God” and “These people supporting the repeal of prop 8 represent TRUE intolerance” is so ridiculous as to seem funny, but when you add a police force brutalizing those who vocalize their opposition and a crowd chanting ‘USA’ as the peaceful protesters are dragged away, it no longer holds any charm.

what a joke this video is…last i checked free speech runs across the aisle…and while you may not like someone talking about traditional marriage..he has the right….coming to a rally and trying to shout him down is not peaceful and doesnt do anything to win your argument…as a gay man im sick of seeing the gay community resort to these kind of tactics….win the argument for same sex marriage based on the merits of the argument….not based on thug tactics….the majority of this country still believes in traditional marriage …these kind of scenes dont win the argument….and i loved seeing these people get arrested…they behaved poorly without a bit of class….rather than sout him down…how about have a debate with him to debate the merits of both arguments….discuss your arguments in an arena of ideas….this seriously is pathetic….ashamed to be in any way associated with these people for this behavior.

I agree but at the same time it doesn’t help when we just argue our point. We have to actually show up and attempt to get them to realize how serious we are about our issues. Obviously when the majority of the country doesn’t want Gay Marriage just saying “hey guys, no really, we’re serious…please let us marry because you know that what you’re doing is wrong because we’re not getting what we want” is not going to help anything.

It was challenging to hear (or care) about what he was saying but at the end he says something to the effect that “these people were displaying true intolerance”. Oh, so sad. How dare they be intolerant of your desire to discriminate. They have some nerve.

Wait…Let me get this right. Fred Phelps and his band of idiots from Westboro Baptist can spew hate and death threats in a protest, but when peace loving people do it against a homophobic presidential candidate they get arrested. Glad I’m not an American, What a fucked up country.
