Empire State Building Hosts First Same-Sex Weddings

Steph Figarelle and Lela McArthur put a ring on it.

For the first time in the two decades that the Empire State Building has been hosting weddings, two same-sex couples married atop the iconic skyscraper this Valentine’s Day.

The lucky couples, Phil Fung & Shawn Klein, and Steph Figarelle & Lela McArthur said their I Do’s in two separate ceremonies yesterday after winning a contest to marry high above New York City.

Both gorgeous couples are among the 42,000 same-sex New Yorkers expected to tie the knot in the state over the next three year. Another 84,000 LGBT Americans are predicted to come to New York from other states where same-sex marriage remains illegal. Same-sex marriages in New York will generate $284 MILLION in revenue for the state economy.

Congratulations to the happy couples!

If you could marry anywhere in the world, where would it be?
