Watch a Preview of MTV’s It Gets Better Special

Dan Savage, Maroon 5 superbabe Adam Levine, Zachary Quinto and a handful of the stars of the It Gets Better videos are taking over MTV and Logo’s airwaves next Tuesday night, but we’ve got a preview of the special for you right here.

The It Gets Better Project’s meteoric rise from a single grainy video starring Savage and his partner Terry Miller to a global phenomenon has been one of the most prominent LGBT narratives over the last two years.

Kathy Griffin, Lady Gaga, Margaret Cho, and even President Obama himself have made video contributions to the project. Last year a book was published featuring some of the most popular contributors stories, and now the project is invading televisions across the country.

The preview looks absolutely fantastic – props all around to those involves – but we’re a bit concerned about the special’s 11 PM time slot. Won’t such a late airing prevent the majority of viewers who most desperately need the opportunity to view it from actually doing so?

Or maybe the thinking is that 11 PM will mean that homophobic parents will be fast asleep, allowing teens to watch the show on the sly? And not that Savage had any control over this, but doesn’t including information about the Teen Mom reunion special in this preview rob the IGB special of some gravity?

We’re curious what you think about the preview and the reasoning behind the time slot. Will you be tuning it for the It Gets Better special?
