The United States Marine Corps’ Brandon Morgan is now the reigning king of the gay military kisses after a shot of him laying a smooch on his partner worthy of The Notebook has blown up all over Facebook.

To everyone who has responded in a positive way. My partner and I want to say thank you. Dalan, the giant in the photo, can’t believe how many shares and likes we have gotten on this. We didn’t do this to get famous,or something like that we did this cause after 3 deployments and four years knowing each other, we finally told each other how we felt. As for the haters, let em hate…to quote Kat Williams, everyone needs haters, so let them hate.

We are the happiest we have ever been and as for the whole PDA and kissing slash hugging in uniform…it was a homecoming, if the Sergeants Major, Captains, Majors, and Colonels around us didn’t care…then why do you care what these random people have to say? In summation thank you for your love and support. I received a lot of friend requests off this. I don’t just accept requests so if your request was because of this post message me and let me know. All I see in this picture are two men that we owe our freedom and security to; two men that we should always honor; two men that have more than earned our respect. I was at a party the other night with a young girl from Canada, and I mentioned something about a marriage equality bill in my state. She just shrugged, and shook her head as if it were the silliest thing in the world to be thinking about. ”Well, we have that in our country, so no one thinks anything about it.”

She was from Montreal, and a twenty something; so I know what she says isn’t quite inclusive of her entire country, it does give me a heartening glimpse into the future.

And guys, if you feel like sending me a nice, autographed, close up poster of this moment, I can think of a lot of women who would enjoy it immensely!

This looks like it was taken out here in Hawaii, where I live on base with my husband (he’s a Marine).

I’ve been able to run up and smooch my husband right there in this very hangar. So many straight couples are able to mark the end of a long and weary deployment with the penultimate homecoming smackeroo.

So yes, to all the people giving gruff about it being in uniform… go to YouTube and search “military homecoming” and you’ll see thousands of make out vids. Marines come home in uniform, and we’ve always been allowed to go get that first kiss. It’s what we all dream about during deployment, we all deserve that perfect moment.
