Just when everyone thought they had Madonna figured out, she kicked things up a notch and went back to her roots (and natural hair color). Isn’t it ironic that Madonna just performed in the Superbowl halftime show performing a song which probably disqualified her from doing it previously?

Burning crosses, black Jesus, excommunication and lots of tabloid attention marked the end of the 80′s/beginning of the 90′s for Madonna… oh yeah a small club hit by the name of ‘Vogue’.

How did you miss my favorite Madonna song of all time? Express Yourself – not only is this song a call to arms to get the love you deserve, it was written as a tribute to Sly and the Family Stone. The video (directed by David Fincher) is the Mother of Vogue and hearkens back to Dietrich and films like Metropolis. The video and subsequent Blonde Ambition interpretation are also include a homage to Michael Jackson with the dance. For the pointy corset alone this should have made your list!!
