College Humor’s lesbian Brokeback Mountain spoof is a few years late to the party, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less deserving of your attention and fanfare.

So what would have happened had Ennis and Jack had vaginas? (Besides a homophobic horse expressing his disdain with crazy-eyes.) Not much.

“I knew these two girls, Tracy and Stephanie. Folks found out about them.” “What’d they do?” “Nothing. I reckon it wasn’t a big deal.”

How about that killer ending? So good!

So because they are lesbians nothing happens to them? I’m confused because I’m a lesbian and I’ve been attacked for being gay. Then again I’m not a “hot” lesbian.

I think it was more parodying the strange half hearted homophobes who still think “lesbians are hot but two guys is disgusting” rather than the more virulent “HOMOSEXUALS WILL BURN IN HELLFIRE!” types… the hypocrisy of the half hearted group (in both their different attitudes towards gay men and lesbians, and their different attitudes towards “hot” lesbians and less “hot” lesbians) is sad, but it’s also quite funny to mock. Then again I also find the somewhat homoerotic phrasing that the more virulent homophobes love so much rather amusing… “Homosexuality is being shoved down our throats, again and again! They’re trying to force us to swallow the sticky mess they’re making of our traditional values!”
