Apple Hints at New (Super Gay) Rainbow Logo

Apple used this fabtastic logo from 1978 to 1996.

Gay boys and Apple products go together like iPhones and Grindr: really, really well.

So when Apple CEO Tim Cook finished announcing the iPad 3 in front of a… wait for it… rainbow Apple logo backdrop, I nearly peed glitter.

Apple is always down to play around with riddles that hint of new product launches and designs, but even if they update their fabulous, now retro, rainbow logo from its early days, it’s unlikely to be a sign of support for the LGBTQ community. Although that’s not to say the company doesn’t support us; Apple has traditionally supported gay rights and even made a six-figure donation to fight Prop 8 several years ago.

Can you imagine my iPhone cover come Pride if Apple made this their new logo?!

Guesswork aside, gay nerds worldwide will undoubtedly (wet)dream this week of the day when their iPhones and iPads are covered in all the colors of the rainbow. A boy can fantasize, can’t he?

Stay hungry. Stay foolish. Stay gay.
