Unicorn Booty is saddling up Wednesday morning and heading to Austin with all of the cool kids for SXSW!
If you’re anything like us – Joyboners over Apple product debuts? Unwilling to live in areas not dominated by asymmetrical haircuts? Unable to remember what using to the bathroom was like before Instagram came along? – then we’ll see you there!
No seriously, we’ll see you there. Unicorn Booty will be at all kinds of events this week!
Sunday 11th March (1:00 – 3:30pm) LGBT Tech Mixer @ SXSW. Unicorn Booty and Dot429 invite EVERYONE for afternoon cocktails, spins from top DJ’s and mac & cheese in this first-ever SXSW gathering in benefit of The Trevor Project—All are welcome!
It all goes down at Conduit Corner on East 7th and Congress across from the Driskill Hotel!
Monday 12th March (2:00 – 4:00pm) The Next Web StartupBus Daily Show. Elliot Tomaeno and Hermione Way host a roundtable on Gaytech featuring Unicorn Booty’s Nick Vivion, Grindr CEO Joel Simkhai, AllthingsD.com’s Kara Swisher, and dot429 spokesperson Cathy Brooks. UB Editorial Director Kevin Farrell will be sitting in the audience trying to break Nick’s concentration with an escalating series of seductive glances.
Tuesday 13th March (4:00 – 6:00pm) Gayby Press Premiere. Where my LGBT film critics at? At Jonathan Lisecki’s screener! Can a perpetually single straight girl in her 30′s and a gay man with a case of comic-book writer’s block make a baby the old-fashioned way? Let’s all find out together, shall we?
Friday 9th March (12:00pm) Alamo Lamar B - Wildness Premiere. Trans-identified Director Wu Tsang’s documentary portrait of the Silver Platter, a historic bar that has been home for Latin/LBGT immigrant communities since 1963 and the weekly art/dance parties the place has become infamous for? We’re so there.
We’ll be bouncing around all week, so feel free to check in with us @Unicornbooty on Twitter. We’ve got interviews with Joss Whedon, both Francos – James and Dave, and Jack Black lined up so we’ll be plenty busy. BUSY PARTYING.
