Ben & Jerry’s Launches Apple-y Ever After Ice Cream in Support of Gay Marriage

Ben & Jerry’s is putting their money where their values are in a delicious relaunch of a fan-favorite flavor in support of marriage equality in the UK.

Apple-y Ever After is being brought back – now with two tuxedo-clad grooms on the carton – in a collaboration with UK LGBT group Stonewall to raise awareness about the campaign to transform the UK’s current civil unions law into full marriage equality.

Prime Minister David Cameron has been ringing the bell for marriage equality for some time now, so the ice cream campaign has less to do with convincing government to do the right thing, and more about simply increasing public awareness about the necessity of full equal rights for LGBT couples.

The flavor has been launched complete with a Facebook campaign encouraging couples to “marry” on the flavor’s page. It all looks like a tasty bit of social networking fun. Go give it a shot!

Are you proud of Ben & Jerry’s for standing up for LGBT rights? Do you think a campaign like this could work here in the United States?
