Maggie Gallagher and the Bigots Get PWNED at the Starbucks Shareholders Meeting

"I'm switching to Folgers!"

Maggie Gallagher has had her last cup of Starbucks, it would seem. America’s most infamous professional bigot made her way to the Starbucks shareholders meeting today in hopes of dissuading the coffee giant from publicly supporting LGBT marriage equality in the state of Washington and beyond.

Before confronting whoever it is she expected to confront with her rather full bodied brand of haterade, Gallagher tweeted a photo of a Starbucks cup with the caption, “My last cup of #starbucks? It was free…”

And while Maggie herself has yet to speak at the shareholders meeting, Starbucks Chairman and CEO Howard Shultz made his position on the subject of LGBT equality absolutely clear to a pair of NOM-affiliated shareholders, telling the crowd:

“Any decision of this type or magnitude has be made with great thoughtfulness and I would assure you that a senior team at Starbucks discussed this. To be very candid with you, this was not something that was a difficult decision for us and we did share this with the board as well. [snip] We made that decision, in our view, through the lens of humanity and being the kind of company that embraces diversity.”

Oh snap!

We literally busted out laughing at the notion that Starbucks, a company with an estimated 38 Trillion gay baristas in employment, would for some reason weigh the rights of those employees below an imagined handful of anti-gay workers within the company. Nice try, y’all!

Thanks for having out backs, ‘Bucks!
