Leave Tofu Alone! Agency Apologizes for ‘Tofu is Gay Meat’ Campaign

There steak goes again, always bullying tofu!
Scooping a silver, the steak image was displayed on the ADC website along with other images from the campaign mock-up without complaint from 2009 until this week.
The advert-makers said of the image: “We would not do that today, and regret that the feelings of homosexual people were hurt.”
Twitter users have been actively following the German advert, which efficiently manages to offend gays and soya bean fans in only four words, under the hashtag #tofuschwuchtel.
On a personal note, tofu is indeed gay meat around these parts. Since moving into our new home, we’ve been unable to find any local markets selling chicken (or much of any meat at all). There’s been a whole lot of pad thai and frozen pizza up in here for the past week.
