Gay Divorce Rate Less Than Half of Straight Divorce Rate in the UK
It’s important to note a few things about the data here.
First, LGBT Brits technically only enjoy access to civil unions, though a much heartier breed than those provided here in the states. UK civil unions are equal to marriage in everything but name, but the difference is still worth noting.
Second, a fair number of LGBT couples walking down the isle in the UK have waited years, if not decades, for the opportunity to do so. Many same-sex marriages are actually the culminating commitment ceremony of couples who have already spent most of their lives together. Putting a ring on it for many of these couples is simply the cherry on top of an already established cake.
Still, this data is certainly an absolute rejection of the argument that gay couples are somehow ruining the sanctity of marriage. The data shows that gays and lesbians are treating their marital bonds with far more integrity than their straight counterparts.
How about them apples?
