New Study Alleges 70% of Cheating Gays are Men, Compared with 81% Straight Women

A new study from the infidelity experts at Cheaterville.com reveals some surprising statistics about just who is cheating on who in America today.

A whopping 70% of self-reporting LGBT cheaters are men who admit to cheating on their partner. And while that figure is astronomical in it’s own right, it almost pales in comparison to the 81% of straight cheaters identifying as women cheating on their husbands.

Some cheaty, cheaty stats from the study:

1. 70% of alleged cheaters posted through the LGBT feature on cheaterville.com are males who have cheated on their male partners. In comparison. 81% of alleged cheaters posted on cheaterville.com in the straight community are women.

2. With respect to cheating females posted through the LGBT feature, Los Angeles was rated the number one spot, while New York City, Toronto and Chicago came in a close second, third and fourth.

3. With respect to cheating males posted through the LGBT feature, New York City was rated the number one spot, while San Francisco, Montreal and Los Angeles came in second, third and fourth.

4. 39% of the victims who posted about an alleged cheating incident within the LGBT community indicated that they met the cheater on Craigslist, Grindr and/or Plenty Of Fish in comparison to the 35% of victims who met the cheater at a local bar/nightclub.

5. 19% of alleged cheaters posted through the LGBT feature on cheaterville.com are males who have cheated on their wife with another male, while 14% are females who have cheated on their husband with another female.

6. The average age of an alleged cheater in the LGBT community is 28, and the majority are Geminis.

My mama always said, “Cheater is as cheater does.” OK, so she didn’t really. Whatever.

You are interpreting the statistics completely wrong. It says 70% of the people on the LGBT feature are men and 81% of the straight people are women. That doesn’t mean 70% of gay men cheat, that means gay men cheat more than lesbian women or there are more gay men than lesbian women and according to this site, in heterosexual relationships, women cheat more than men.

I won’t even get into the fact that this website isn’t a legitimate source and that not everyone will post their cheating-ex online.

Amen. I highly doubt that enough people *volunteered* that they cheated for it to be a completely reliable source. I do find it somewhat interesting, though. :D

The statistics don’t even have that much weight behind them. There is no proper protocol being followed here, it relies entirely on people self-reporting on a website about cheating. Most people who are in truly monogamous relationships probably don’t spend much time at sites like that. The statistics are meaningless numbers meant only to titillate and drive up traffic on their site.

Mmm guess women are some serious dissatisfied ladies. It makes me kinda sad, but uh nothing new to me at least what I observe from people around me including strangers. The men cheating, I see that easy too, I would think its mostly just a higher sex drive for men. Although its never black and white, there are always exceptions like just being a douche. But i’m against cheating, I mean you wanna have some funtoolery just tell me, we separate. But one thing I hate is, I cheated on you, but wait I still want us to be together……selfish prats. Sigh you little twerps, in this times, All except my first was the only one never cheated on, and I’m like oh great it don’t seem like that’s changing either. Now I have to cradle guys feelings all the more, no prob with that really, but it will kill you if thats their major scorn……..some of you may know this.

Are a majority of cheaters Gemini or a plurality? If it is a majority, that would really be something.

Also, the story makes it seem like it is self-reported. In fact, these are people accused (presumably by their exes) of being cheaters. That means that for both same and opposite sex relationships, the vast majority of those who feel the need to “out” their disloyal ex are men. Which undermines the whole “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” thing.
