NOM’s Facebook, Twitter, Blog Hacked; Flooded with Equality Posts

So apparently, NOM got wrecked in the best way possible: the hate group’s Facebook, Twitter and blog were “hacked,” and the perpetrators spent a few hours Wednesday spreading the opposite of the group’s usual hate speech.

While the hackers have not yet revealed themselves (and are surely members of the gay ninja squad), they ingeniously flooded subscribers and followers with pro-gay, pro-marriage equality messages. The hackers also unbanned a large majority of people that NOM had banned on its Facebook page.

In light of all the recent… “poopy” hitting the fan with NOM’s nefarious racial-wedge strategy being revealed, Maggie Gallagher having blood on her hands, and her bizarro-world “I don’t beat my wife” interview, this just adds more on top of the struggling group. You might as well hang it up, NOM. You’re finished.

As expected, and vaguely alluded to at the beginning of the post, NOM has blamed “militant same-sex marriage supporters” for the hack, and has alerted its followers that its Twitter is no longer its own. Lolz.

Once again, lolz. This just keeps getting better. NOM using this as justification for their hate in 5, 4, 3…

Real talk: This is why you don’t use the same password for every single social media platform, website admin login, and blog medium. The same password for every aspect of your organization’s infrastructure is a no-no.

I signed up for the news letter at NOM to keep up on their hate and the one I got yesterday was intense. Poor Brian when off about being hacked and how the hackers will pay for the damage they did. They are in control of the problem and will be back to the business of hate soon. Don’t forget to donate! What an ass.

Funny and Ironic and all that jazz, but doesn’t this (hacking) undermine the whole peaceful (legal) fight for equality, as just standing up for right everyone should have that have been denied them for no good reason? The hack just reinforces the idea that the LGBTQ community and it’s supporters flaunt laws and disregard other’s rights to privacy, even though they haven’t been proven to be behind the hack. And the arguement that people should know better then to be lax in their security does not make it okay to take advantage of that. If the same thing happened to unicornbooty, for example, it would be at the very least deemed criminal, and at the most extreme deemed a hate crime. Seriously, i wouldn’t be suprised if NOM did it themselves simply to create more fodder for themselves.

So it looks like the Twitter gurus totally took that account down. I find that interesting, with some of the other hate groups on there, they get to spread their hate speech and stay up. Until they get hacked.

This is hilarious. I’m glad hackers actually did something good.

As a side note, I was a little perterbed by the fact that one of the google ads on this page is a pro traditional marriage in maryland ad, calling for support from people to get the marriage amendment in maryland put on the ballot this november. Now, I don’t know if this site has any control over what ads google puts on here, but I should think that if they do that they would want to know about this and put a stop to it. Anti-gay ads should not appear on a pro-gay site.

I’ve also been noticing a lot of ads like that. “I’ll Pray for you” “Nobama” “Support traditional marriage” and the like are often the first thing to load when I’m reading an article on this site. Its very distracting.

Idiots like this are exactly what NOM is looking for to further their cause and support their hate, lies, and stereotypes. I really wish these people would have thought about the negative impact this will have on the current civil rights movement for the LGBT community.

As another commenter’s pointed out before, the “I don’t beat my wife” thing really is not bizarre – it’s a reference to a well known example of a “loaded question”, or a question containing a false assumption, such as “Have you stopped beating your wife yet?” – you can’t answer “yes” or “no” without your answer implying that you have, at some point, beaten your wife. A slightly obscure reference perhaps, but not bizarre. It is of course rather amusing to hear Maggie Gallagher talking about her wife, however.
