Chris Evans to Playboy: It’s INSANE Gay People are Denied Civil Rights

Chris Evans talks The Avengers, fart jokes, big asses and the lusty McLustableness of one Miss Scarlett Johansson in the latest issue of Playboy.

But it’s his thoughts on the shame our nation will feel in ten years time for our denial of LGBT citizens’ civil rights that really made our ears perk up.

PLAYBOY: Your brother is gay. Do you support gay marriage?

EVANS: Are you kidding me? It’s insane that civil rights are being denied people in this day and age. It’s embarrassing, and it’s heartbreaking. It goes without saying that I’m completely in support of gay marriage. In 10 years we’ll be ashamed that this was an issue.

Amen! Or Avengers Assemble! Whatever.

Well obviously Playboy is a somewhat misogynistic institution (for those unaware, its a magazine built on getting women to take their clothes off lol,) but I wasn’t aware that they had any strong opinion on civil liberties or the GBLT community at all, and have even been surprisingly progressive from time to time. They may not jump at the chance to be called advocates, but Playboy as a company just sort of does its thing without being ‘homophobic’. Let’s not invent enemies for the community.

I would argue that misogynistic is the wrong word. Playboy doesn’t have a “hatred of women” which is what misogynistic means. It was also run by a woman from 1988 – 2008.
