Love is a good thing, never loose it. But to be effective against hate love must be aggressively brutal as well. Take no prisoners, hold no punches. 

Unfortunately as it is a Catholic school it is not at all surprising.  It is sad that the Church doesn’t seem to understand how to interpret Jesus’ teaching of unconditional love, and the hatred and ignorance that spews forth from it as a result.  The Church has a lot of problems with interpretation of the life and teachings of Christ, and always has.  Christ would not have wanted his Church to go to war as the aggressor, like it did three times (the Crusades), nor would He have wanted His Church to persecute non-believers (as they tortured and killed through the Pope’s blessing during the Spanish inquisition) and those are simply two easily accessible examples of how the Church has managed to stray so very badly.

If Jesus had such a problem with sexual orientation He surely would have mentioned something about it during the 30 years he spent on Earth, it would appear somewhere in the Gospels.  Instead it is thrown at us from verses taken from places such as Leviticus, while those who would have us suffer eat pork and shrimp and wear cotton/polyester.  Instead Jesus teaches Love, unconditional Love.  If you were to boil down His entire time here on Earth asking what was the central message of the whole thing, what we are to walk away with and profess in our lives, is without a doubt unconditional Love. Love for not only those who love us but for those who oppose us, turn the other cheek rather than taking out an eye, loving one another as He has loved us (who then went and sacrificed Himself for humanity – all of humanity – so that we may have eternal life).  Somehow the Church has forgotten a lot of this – its about time they be reminded.
