The shot: Navy Veteran Cory Huston asks Marine Avarice Guerrero to marry him at Camp Pendleton’s Camp Del Mar – an active military base -near Oceanside, CA.

The proposal is believed to be the first on-base same-sex marriage proposal between servicemen in our country’s history.

I don’t think the Military recognizes gay marriages, yet. This is an issue because a gay, married, deployed soldier-parent is a gay, single, deployed soldier-parent in the eyes of the military. I think this can be a huge issue in regards to soldiers needing a family support structure while deployed or moving overseas.
