Little known fact: Thelma and Louisa never meant to drive their car over that cliff.

When Thelma suggested they keep on running, she meant it! And Louise totally intended to swing that convertible right around and onto a highway down the side of the canyon to Freedom Town, USA juuust obstructed from everyone’s line of site – but ah ah ah!

All of a sudden, there’s a text message from Brad Pitt asking, “Wuz it gud 4 U?” Louise swiped her thumb to reply “wrong number” and whoops, now the ladies are plunging to their doom.

But it didn’t have to end this way for Thelma and Louise. Had the ladies taken our pledge to never text and drive and then downloaded their free DriveMode App, this all could have been avoided.

Such a waste! Tsk tsk!

In all seriousness, texting and driving is no joke. Please, please, puh-leeze take our pledge to never text and drive and then download your own free DriveMode app. Smooch!

It’s not a promotion so much as us genuinely believing in their Don’t Text and Drive campaign and wishing to spread the word. My last roommate was in a terrible accident last year on her bicycle that could have easily been avoided. We’re passionate about this campaign.

AT&T sucks….but this app…genius. There, honestly, with the way cars are today, is no reason that something like this can’t be made into a standard feature in most cars. Pretty much any new car you buy today has a computer…there is no reason that computer can’t be made to block cell signals on short range. Oh, but you might miss an important call from the office, you say? Well, there is nothing you can do about it while you are driving anyway. Ya’ll wanna txt and drive, fine….I’ll mount my Nook to the steering wheel…it’s the same thing. If it’s all that important, then have a program that can flag it as such and the car’s computer tells you “Important txt available…please pull over”….and if you open it before stopping your car it cuts the engine like the breathalizer machines that people who have had DUIs have.
