“What kind of holy man, what kind of man of God lies about what he has said in a videotaped sermon when he is apologizing for what he said in that sermon?”

“Smell like a girl? The child abuse-advocating pastor did not explain what ‘smell like a girl’ means. Did he mean he knows little girls who do not smell like a girl? What do they smell like? Does he know how very, very sick that sounds?”

I do forgive him, as a christian it is what Jesus told me I should do in the scriptures. But nonetheless, I see his lies, his perversion of Christs teachings, and those, he himself shall have to answer for. But not to me, one who is fit to judge.

This guy is a liar like the rest of them. He said ” If your son is acting limp wristed break his wrists”, etc…He went on and on and now he is breaking one of the teen commandments. Hypocrit, lying, bigot, hate filled, uneducated, uselesss group of people! I know not every christian buys into God hating gay people but religion and christians as a whole are a very hate filled group. They like to claim that gay people hate christians…. There is a old saying “You catch more bees with honey than vinegar”. The original writings of the bible say NOTHING remotely relating to gay people or homosexuality. Im not saying gay people arent sinners but we arent sinning for being who we are or being in a loving relationship. Gay peoples relationships last just as long or longer than heteros and yes gay people cheat or have open relationships but its no more so than heterosexuals. the christians need to look in the mirror. Kids are killing themselves and each other and this man just added fuel to the hatred fire which is all they do. I have nothing to do with religion or christians and never will! I just cannot hate as much as they do and yes its HATE!

It is sad to see that some people will derive an opinion of people or a group of people based on a single nut case. Just because your dress up a wolf to look like a lamb does not mean what you end up with is a lamb. This guy is blatantly sick. He needs to be in a mental ward. And, if the church allows him to remain as pastor, perhaps the local authorities should check out the flock to see how badly they have become infected. Perhaps they will need to be spiritually “sheep dipped” to get the stench off of them. It’s not the children who stink. The “pastor” does.

That is what I found so repugnant. If it had been just him, I would’ve written it off as one batcrap crazy sexist homophobe. But the laughter and cheers and encouragement from the congregation were horrifying. I wonder if they even realize what they were applauding, or if they were just blindly following along.

I posted the video to my facebook page, complete with my own rant, and I find it very interesting that the only people who commented to me about it are either non-religious or LGBT supporters or both. I have quite a few devoutly Christian “friends” and not one of them had a word to say – which makes me think they must not have a problem with it.

Perhaps that is because your friends don’t wish to have to defend their faith to your non-religious friends. I am a devout Christian and also a lesbian, and if anyone came up to me wanting to argue over what a religious nutcase said, i’d ask them to leave me alone. Not because I agree with the nutcase (I don’t) but because those conversations devolve into religious arguments quite easily. If those “friends” you speak of are really your friends, you should know them well enough to know they don’t agree… And if they’re not, get rid of them.

The way I understood it, you were supposed to be a “witness for Christ”…meaning that yes, you ARE supposed to defend your religion to those that are nonbelievers. I have numerous friends on facebook that are MORE then willing to debate/defend their standpoint with me….so I have to agree with the OP here and go with the old quote..”By their silence, you will know them.” By NOT speaking out against this OBVIOUS rant of “if your child is gay, BEAT IT OUT OF THEM” then one can only assume they agree with it. Oh…and BTW….Jesus never said anything about being gay…that is a christian fallacy because they think the ENTIRE bible belongs to them…when THEIR holy book is ONLY the new testament. Everything before that is Hebraic law and does not apply to christians.

Okay, so, Bro. Sean wrote a retraction, sort of, however, what troubles me as much or more is that in the clip of his sermon he was getting a lot of affirmation from the ‘amen corner’. He’s the ‘pastor’ (shepherd) of his flock of ‘bleating hearts’, “Amen, amen…”…
What kind of message did the sheep take back to the stable? And elsewhere? The ‘amen crowd’ can’t un-hear or excise the wrong-minded teaching.
