Thank You, Mr. President! Love, The Unicorn Booty Boys
My partner Nick and I aren’t just your gay blogger overlords. We’re also a real life couple in real life love with a real life house and joint bank accounts and whatnot. But as your gay blogger overlords, we can sometimes get so caught up in the goings-on of our various businesses that we forget to celebrate the big moments in life.
Like today for example when I was busy power-blogging the announcement that President Obama had come out in support of same-sex marriage and Nick was busy tending to the contractors building our restaurant here in New Orleans.
We paused to share a celebratory smooch to mark the momentous occasion (We’ve been engaged for two years now and as recently as Monday were discussing whether or not to get married in New York this summer or continue waiting for full federal marriage equality), and Nick snapped a pic which I posted to my personal Facebook page.
For some reason, over 200 people have “liked” the shot on FB, so we decided to post our thank you smooch here on UB as well. Apparently people are really into shots of us kissing. Which is cool because we really, really like kissing each other – hence that two-year engagement thing.
In any case, thank you, Mr. President. We’re real people and small business owners. We’re gay, we’ve been in a committed relationship for years, and we’re very much in love. We hope to marry – real, full marriage – someday soon. Thank you for today moving that day tremendously closer.
Love, Kevin and Nick. Smooch!
