Reverend Laments Allowing Women the Right to Vote

Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson: JERK

Explaining that women just weren’t created to handle with power, and then most men never make mistakes, Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson tells parishioners in the video below that women should never have been given the right to vote.

“We should have never turned the vote over to women,” Peterson said. “And these women are voting for the wrong people. They’re voting for people who are evil, who agree with them, who are gonna take us down the pathway of destruction.”

The timing couldn’t be more perfect. While most of the country today is celebrating the fact that our sitting president just endorsed the right of same-sex couples to marry, the Christian opposition to that watershed civil rights interview is encapsulated quite nicely by this reverend’s insanely derogatory and misogynistic diatribe.

Just a thought; this man stands before the masses stating women can’t vote when his rights were restricted as well at one point, are we noticing the hypocrisy?

There are many black men, just as there are white men, who feel that men do the hard work and women-folk deal in the kitchen. It’s related all back to the olden days when mostly men populated the fields, and women and children stuck close to the main house and in the house.

And how sad that you miss the “good ol’ days” when grandad handled the situation with your grandmother, that “crazy old woman”, most likely by beating her. Is that what this is really about? don’t have love” Honestly I had to laugh at this man, if he was
correct, how were mothers able to raise children for so long? I guess
this is why his mother left him to be raised by grandparents on the same
plantation that his ancestors continued to live and work on for a
century after they were no longer slaves to that plantation. If they
didn’t have enough sense to get away from it for a hundred years, they
surely couldn’t have produced offspring with intelligence. This

There are several things wrong with this:
1) Men are not “afraid” of women, they are just not cavemen and they believe women are equal. I have yet to meet a man who is afraid of me.
2) If 50% of the voting population are women (no surprise really as about 50% of the population in general are women), how can there possibly be more women than men voting?
3) His view that women are unable to deal with stress or make good decisions was the view shared by many of those who were against female suffrage. That was a hundred years ago.
4) His grammar was wrong in places. He needs to go back to school, learn how to speak properly and leave his archaic views in the history books where they belong. We’ve moved on.

Lastly just as something extra: Whilst I like my gender being credited with the acceptance of homosexuality, I can’t really understand why Mr Peterson has given women such an accolade. Oh well, looks like women aren’t all bad after all.

ok what really caught me was the comments about women wanting to be paid for sex, as well and wanting MEN to pay for birth control and that men don’t want any one to pay for their sex. What about health insurance paying for Viagra but not birth control? so its ok to pay for the drug that allows a man to have sex and get a woman pregnant but its not ok to pay for something that will help prevented an unwanted pregnancy that would save hundreds of thousands of dollars in child support?

As for the audience, I’m not sure. I heard some feminine voices in the crowd when they were laughing. Hopefully, they were just stunned with shock, though women being sexist against women isn’t unheard of nor uncommon.
