Cewebrity Jenna Marbles Shares Her Thoughts on Marriage (Video)

One of my favorite YouTube personalities, Jenna Marbles, recently posted this great video about her thoughts on marriage.

All this noise about Obama publicly endorsing marriage equality totally rocks, but the conservative backlash makes my head spin so much that I could vomit a huge rainbow all over my TV. I want to kick back, take the semi-cynical approach, and laugh at the fact that some people still get all kinds of freaked out when I hold my boyfriend’s hand in public.

Whenever I engage my peer group (who are awesome) in a conversation about marriage equality, we inevitably begin to deconstruct the institution of marriage, and relationships as a whole. Would marriage matter if the rights weren’t attached to it? Why do we put so much pressure on relationships? If gay people get married, who gets to be the bride?

I can always count on Jenna for a healthy does of hilarious real talk, and this clip made me laugh, so mission accomplished. Be warned, the language is NSFW. Use headphones if you have co-workers who are offended by many, many f-bombs.

I’ve seen one other video of hers. I didn’t know her YouTube username (unless it’s birth-given?) was one I’d expect to be a John Waters film character.

I live in NC, and my mom and I went to go vote this past week. On the way there, my mom tells me what she’d say if a reporter was there interviewing people. “I’d vote for the amendment because I believe marriage should be painful, and that only a man and a woman should be able to do that to each other…” She’s got a unique sense of humor. Haha

I am 100% pro gay marriage. But don’t you think Obama endorsing it this late in his term is just a scam to attract more voters? Serious question here.

I think he’s always been in support. Unfortunately, publicly endorsing marriage equality too early could have a negative effect on his second term. With all the Obama haters out there, I feel like the man needs to be extremely calculated.

By the same token, I’ll reserve my opinions until he actually signs the bill.
