Good lord, this commercial is ridiculous! Remember voters, your ballot cast in the coming election will be recorded for all eternity! The pope says so!

On a side note, why go to the trouble of producing a $50,000 commercial and then phone it in on the actual pen that lady is voting with? A clicky Bic? Really?

I am sure glad that over 50% of Catholics polled are FOR Equal Marriage.
Very dramatic. They had jobs and energy but there was more focus on the social issues.
Equal marriage is not about religious law, it’s about civil law.
I would rather every woman have a clean place with trained doctors than quacks in a back room if they know they should not keep the baby. It is and should be her choice.
Our diverse nation should not be ruled by one religion or their discriminating views. The LAW must benefit everyone.

Isn’t it funny how they are so quick to point out how the government is trying to take away their “religious freedoms” — even going as far as saying:

“When the government tampers with a freedom so fundamental, one shudders to think what lies ahead.” – Cardinal Dolan

Yet, they want to take a fundamental RIGHT away from GLBT persons by denying us marriage. When the government tells the church what to do, they will fight tooth and nail…but they want government to stop gays from marrying. Hooray for double standards!

It’s to bad the church decides to use their money this way. With all that money, they could do so much good in the world.

I will say this as someone who sees a lot of ads, this one is really nice except for the complete BS its spewing. The music was nice, the blacksmith was ok, but the end really got to me…… Marriage Life Freedom…..OH I was pissed. These bible thumpers need to get it through their little heads that THIS country was created on FREEDOM of religion which means you don’t tell me who to worship and i don’t’ tell you. You don’t tell me who to marry so i won’t tell you. These church people have really got to read that little book they keep spewing nonsense from and STFU. If the US wants to give married people more rights fine then EVERYONE should be given that right STRAIGHT or GAY!

If I may get video-picky, I’d say the super slow-mo was really annoying. It was like reading a really long sentence with a bunch of ellipsis.

More importantly though, what the heck? The “freedom” bit was really RICH. That whole thing was just unpleasant. Pretentious? Definitely the right word here.

How DARE they talk about religious freedom! Marriage does not belong exclusively to Catholics nor has it ever! How can they have such nerve as to monopolize on something that isn’t theirs! Great commercial…pity it’s content has to be about perpetuating hate, fear and discrimination. For a new generation “the church” implores you to surrender and obey. Such an unbelievable load of crap. No one is requiring that the church marry us nor even recognize our marriages, that is the job of “the state” which “the church” has worked so hard to stay separate from but now seeks to manipulate by requiring it’s minions to vote a certain way.

Isn’t this ad a direct violation of the separation of church and state? Do they want in now? If so, I’m sure our government is happy to tax them accordingly and welcome their opinions at that point.
